Pound Cake

This is the recipe I requested for every birthday as a teenager.  It's amazing with sliced strawberries and fresh whipped cream. 

2 squares butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
3 cups sifted flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 can evaporated milk
1-2 tsp almond flavoring
Cream butter and sugar. Beat eggs in one at a time, mixing well. Sift dry ingredients together-add alternatively with evaporated milk. Stir in flavoring-beat until mixed and light. Pour in greased and floured bundt or 10’ tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes then turn out of pan.
