Split Pea Soup

SAA Favorite

2 ham hocks

2 qts water

1 tsp salt

¼ tsp thyme

2 c split peas

2 bay leaves

¼ tsp celery seeds

Place ham bone into 6 quart Dutch oven. Add peas. Pour hot water over ham bone and add spices. Set Dutch oven on low (about 200 degrees). Cover and cook for 8-10 hours. Remove meat from bone. Serve.
