Pumpkin Cake

½ cup shortening

1 ½ cup sugar

2 eggs

2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. cinnamon

½ tsp soda

½ tsp cloves

¼ tsp salt

1 cup pumpkin (or a little extra doesn’t hurt)

1 cup raisins or nuts (optional)

Cream shortening and sugar. Add other ingredients. Bake 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Serve with whip cream, plain, or frosted.
