Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

1 ½ flour

1 tsp salt

¾ cup brown sugar

¾ cup granulated sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup shortening

2 cups oatmeal

1 tsp. soda

1 tsp. hot water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar and shortening. Add unbeaten eggs. In a separate bowl, sift flour, soda, salt and add to creamed mixture. Add water, chocolate chips, and oatmeal. Plop spoonfuls onto sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes.
