This keeps for weeks in the refrigerator and can be used many times over.
2 cups water
2 cups flour
1 cup salt
½ cup cornstarch
2 TB vegetable oil or margarine
1 TB powdered Alum (found in spice section)
Few drops of food coloring
Mix all ingredients. Cook over medium heat until thick. Remove from pan and knead until smooth. Use oil on a surface and add food coloring as you continue to knead and mix. Yields about 3 cups of dough.
